Dietary supplement based on Krill Oil, rich in Omega 3 fatty acids useful for promoting normal cardiac function.
Food supplement in capsules with lipid extract of the Antarctic Krill crustacean Euphausia superba. Rich in omega-3 fatty acids. EPA and DHA contribute to normal cardiac function. Choline contributes to the maintenance of normal liver function, homocysteine and lipid metabolism.
Krill oil is a new-generation lipid extracted from Krill (Euphausia Superba), a tiny crustacean (shrimp) that thrives in the pristine waters of the Antarctic. This fatty acid extract already includes Omega-3, Omega-6 and Omega-9, vitamin E, phospholipids and Astaxanthin.
The basic constituents of cell membranes found in Krill are in the same proportion and structure as those found in the human body and are therefore about 47 times more bioavailable than the Omega-3s in fish oil. Thanks to the Omega-3 fatty acids in the form of phospholipids, Krill oil mixes immediately with the fluids in the stomach more than any other oil.
Antartic Krill contains Krill fished according to the MSC-certified environmental standard for sustainable fishing following the strictest sustainability protocols.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF OMEGA-3 FROM KRILL OIL?
Intake of Omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA has been linked to many health benefits, ranging from improved cardiovascular health and cognitive function to reduced levels of inflammation in the body. A clinical study of 76 men and women showed a 45% greater overall increase in EPA and DHA in subjects receiving krill oil after 7 weeks compared to subjects receiving fish oil.
WHAT IS ASTAXANTHIN? WHAT IS IT FOR?
Astaxanthin is a very potent antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties and the ability to cross the blood-brain barrier; it is able to neutralise free radicals, which are unstable molecules that can damage cells and increase the risk of age-related and heart diseases. Astaxanthin is also able to protect lipids and low-density lipoproteins (LDL) from oxidation. Research suggests that it is beneficial for cardiovascular health because it increases 'good' cholesterol and lowers triglyceride levels in humans.
CLINICAL RESEARCH CONFIRMS THE EFFICACY OF KRILL OIL-BASED THERAPIES:
- The latest clinical studies show that Omega-3s promote cardiovascular health.
They have identified a link between the concentration of Omega-3 fatty acids in tissues, blood, and red blood cells, and the overall health of the cardiovascular system. Omega-3s offer recognised benefits in promoting blood vessel wellness. Research shows that Omega-3s also maintain blood pressure and cholesterol levels within a normal range. They are involved in promoting a regular heart rhythm and support blood clotting processes. As a result, Omega-3 helps keep the heart and arteries healthy, facilitating prevention of heart disease by protecting the walls of blood vessels from developing atherosclerotic plaques. Increased intake of Omega-3 fatty acids has led to a reduction in sudden cardiac death, fatal and non-fatal myocardial infarction, and improved symptoms of other cardiovascular diseases.
- Omega-3 plays a key role in the proper structure and function of cell membranes in the brain.
The brain is the control centre of the human body. It continues to change and grow with age. Omega-3 is crucial for brain development, as well as for health and maintenance throughout the life cycle. Only adipose tissue contains more fatty acids than the body's central nervous system. Omega-3 fatty acid DHA, which is the most common fatty acid in the human brain, makes up 15 per cent of all fatty acids in the brain. Omega-3 in the form of phospholipids plays a key role in the proper structure and function of brain cell membranes and cell signalling. Conversely, a deficiency of Omega-3 in brain tissue can affect its functioning and development.
- Omega-3s are a valuable aid in balancing ongoing inflammatory processes in the body and preventing the onset of hypertension-related problems.
- Omega-3s support the reduction of bad cholesterol.
Omega-3 acids facilitate the decrease in triglycerides and bad cholesterol (LDL), while increasing good cholesterol (HDL). A study of 113 subjects with a normal or slightly elevated cholesterol or triglyceride level showed that the HDL-cholesterol and triglyceride ratio (a risk factor index for the heart) was significantly improved in participants after krill oil intake, but not after fish oil treatment.
- Omega-3s support joint health.
Omega-3s also have the ability to support joint cartilage. A study was conducted to evaluate the effects of krill oil on C-reactive protein (CRP), an inflammatory biomarker. Krill oil at 300 mg/day significantly reduced PCR by 19% after 7 days and by 30% after 14 days of treatment.
Confirming the clinical benefits of PCR reduction, arthritis patients had a reduction in WOMAC pain score of 24% and 25% after 7 and 14 days, a reduction in joint stiffness of 22% and 28%, and a reduction in functional impairment of 16% and 18%.
- Omega-3s are a valuable aid to women's needs throughout their life cycle.
Omega-3s play a crucial role in women's lives from birth to adulthood. They have been studied for numerous health benefits, including prenatal health, premenstrual syndrome and mood health. Women can rely on the phospholipids contained in Omega-3. Premenstrual syndrome is characterised by a series of hormonal changes that trigger symptoms in a significant number of women up to two weeks before menstruation.
