Organic Guava
First discovered around 1500, the Guava is the fruit of the Psidium gujava L. tree, a species belonging to the Myrtaceae family of which there are several varieties, originally from Mexico and Central America, but nowadays widespread in all warm tropical climates. The Guava plant is a modestly sized evergreen that offers fruit that varies in colour; in fact, the skin can take on shades from yellow to green. The flesh, which varies from white to a pinkish hue, has a pleasant buttery texture and an incredibly aromatic, sweet and exotic flavour. It was the Portuguese settlers who first brought the Guava fruit from the New World, proving to be a valuable food during long sea voyages to ward off the risk of scurvy, which was very common among sailors. Fascinated by its irresistible sugary flavour, the countries of South-East Asia adopted it as a customary crop. Its seductive taste and sensational aroma have made it an extremely popular fruit, both to eat and to use in skin care. Advanced Vitamin C

In addition to Guava extract, we have added Ascorbyl Palmitate to our formulations, a substance with strong antioxidant power; it is obtained by combining Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) with Palmitic Acid, a natural fatty acid. Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin, chemically very unstable, thanks to the addition of palmitate it becomes fat-soluble, making it more stable and therefore easily conveyed through the first layer of the dermis.
