Colors of Life® prickly pear oil is obtained by cold pressing from the seeds of the Opuntia ficus indica L. plant, in order to keep all the bioactive components contained in it unchanged and consequently its beneficial properties.
The prickly pear plant is widespread throughout the world; the fruits are mainly consumed, but the cladodes are also used in the preparation of supplements, herbal teas and cosmetic products.
Finally, an oil rich in unsaturated fatty acids, in particular linoleic and oleic acid, and Vitamin E, a powerful antioxidant, is extracted from the seeds. It is considered among the most effective natural remedies in fighting free radicals and protecting skin and hair from the signs of aging.
Prickly pear oil is light and easily absorbed. It has a healing, sebum-regulating and anti-inflammatory action, which is why it is particularly used to combat acne and other skin inflammations.
